Overview

The Annotate Tool allows you to add annotations to your map. This should be used as a temporary way to mark-up a map. It should not be used to store important information.


Types

The Annotation Tool contains the following types of annotation:

  • Point
  • Line
  • Arrow (found under the Line option)
  • Area
  • Circle (found under the Area option)
  • Label


Adding an Annotation

To use the Annotate Tool:

  1. Select Tools from the menu
  2. Click 'Annotate' from the drop-down list.
  3. Click the green + button
  4. Choose your annotation type
  5. Draw on the map
  6. Change styles as required
  7. Click Save


Editing Annotations

To edit an annotation (for either the shape or styling):

  1. Info Click on the object to be edited (simply by clicking on it on the map)
  2. Clarify which object you want to edit (if it shows more than one option on the left-hand panel)
  3. In the Info window on the left-hand side, click the pencil icon
  4. Change the object as required.
  5. Click the green tick button to confirm and save.


NOTE: It's not possible to edit circles.



Deleting an Annotation

To delete an Annotation:

  1. Info Click on the object to be deleted (simply by clicking on it on the map)
  2. Clarify which object you want to delete (if it shows more than one option on the left-hand panel)
  3. In the Info window on the left-hand side, click the trash icon
  4. Confirm by clicking OK


Deleting all Annotations

To delete all annotations:

  1. Select Tools from the menu
  2. Select Annotate from the drop-down list
  3. Click 'List All'
  4. Click the red 'Delete All' button from the left-hand window.


Features of the Annotate Tool

The tool helps you select annotation objects and quickly perform actions. Here are some features that help:


  • Recently Created. As you create new annotation objects, they show in a list immediately available after you save an object. This allows you to quickly go back to edit it without having to Info Click.


  • List All. This shows you a list of the annotation objects in your current view. Click the icon to the right of "Annotations in View" to switch to show a list of all annotation objects, regardless of if they're in view or not.


  • Quick Options. Each annotation object when listed in the 'List All' section have menus and buttons next to them. These allow you to edit or delete the object, or open up the Data Extract tool or Constraints Checker.
