Why?

Clearing cache ensures your web browser is using the most up-to-date version of Parish Online, here are the steps you need to take to clear the cache from your web browser


What is it?

Cache is data that is stored by your browser each time you visit a website so that if you visit it again it doesn't have to reload all the same information. From time to time we may ask you to clear the cache to make sure your web browser is using the most up-to-date version of the software.

The box below shows you which browser you are using. You can then use the relevant instructions below to clear your cache.


How?

Internet Explorer

  1. Press CTRL + SHIFT + DEL (CMD + SHIFT + DEL on Apple Mac) to bring up the Delete Browsing History window.
  2. Ensure the 'Temporary Internet files and website files' option is selected, and all the other options are deselected.
  3. Press the delete button.
  4. Refresh your web browser.


Edge

  1. Press CTRL + SHIFT + DEL (CMD + SHIFT + DEL on Apple Mac) to bring up the Clear Browsing data window.
  2. Ensure the 'Cached data and files' option is selected, and all the other options are deselected.
  3. Press the clear button.
  4. Refresh your web browser.


Chrome

  1. Press CTRL + SHIFT + DEL (CMD + SHIFT + DEL on Apple Mac) to bring up the Clear Browsing data window.
  2. Click on the 'Basic' tab and tick 'Cached images and files'.
  3. Untick all other options in both the 'Basic' and 'Advanced' tabs.
  4. Select 'All Time' in the Time Range.
  5. Click the 'Clear Data' button.
  6. Refresh your web browser.


Firefox

  1. Press CTRL + SHIFT + DEL (CMD + SHIFT + DEL on Apple Mac) to bring up the Clear Recent History window.
  2. Ensure the 'Cache' option is selected, and all the other options are deselected.
  3. In the 'Time Range' drop down menu at the top select 'Everything'.
  4. Press the Clear Now button.
  5. Refresh your web browser.


Safari

  1. Enable Developer Tools: Click on Safari (top left of screen) then select preferences (CMD + ,).
  2. On the advanced tab select the 'Show Develop menu in menu bar' tick box then close the preferences window.
  3. Click on the Develop menu item (top of screen)
  4. Select ' Empty Caches'.
  5. Refresh your web browser.
