The Excel spreadsheet attached to this article contains a calculator to assist with flight planning.
It allows you to enter a Ground Sampled Distance (GSD) in centimetres and a desired along-track overlap. This will calculate the flying height and the maximum speed the aircraft should go for the survey.

- This spreadsheet is provided without warranty and does not guarantee survey success due to a range of other factors.
- The calculations are for the XCAM B only.
- The maximum speed is a ground speed, not air speed.
- The calculated speed is a maximum, not a target. At the speed calculated the XCAM will be on the limit of being able to take photos and save successfully.
